Mercury Mitts

Neon lights work when the gas inside is heated, causing it to give off specific wavelengths of light.  Different gases make different colors – sometimes very specific combinations of colors, called an emission spectrum.  Each element has a unique one – these mitts feature the emission spectrum of Mercury, the silvery liquid found in old thermometers.

Pattern is available for purchase through Ravelry.
